Alameda store will never deal with them again Jim the assistant manager is one of the rudest people I’ve ever dealt with at West Marine West marine is always price matched with Amazon or at their major outlets online he talk to me like I was needy it when I told him Amazon had the part for less money and told me there is a new policy with West marine that it Has to be in stock in Amazon it’s never been that way and that is a ridiculous rule if Amazon has it showing online for less money. I deal with you guys weekly but I’ll use Svensons marine in Alameda for now on and I’ll make sure I tell everybody about the experience

Corporate policy is corporate policy. Take it up with corporate, not the person at the register who has to deal with freak outs like yours most likely was.

I have shopped at that location for many years and although a bit overpriced the staff’s friendly service made it tolerable. Since the new manager Ken took over the store it has gone down hill. He is very rude and even a bit disrespectful. Furthermore he has very little knowledge of boat parts or fishing equipment. I don’t understand why West Marine would put a guy like that in charge of a store. Luckily they still have great customer service at their Pinecrest store. Being that it’s a bit away I have taken my business elsewhere. By the way I used to spend around $200k per year at that store.

Need barcodes for certificates.

Not pissed at all. We wete issued two $5 rewards certificates that expire soon, and when we went to use them, they had no barcode, so they wouldnt work at the Edgewater, MD location. Are you able to reissue them?

Why do hire kids that don't even know what the pointy end of the boat is called and which is port or starboard? How do expect to keep customers if they can't get help?

Agreed. West used to employ knowledgeable boaters but the quality of their employees has gone way down hill not to mention their high prices .

The kids are often lazy and rude.

Fortunately we live near enough to Defender Marine who are way better in every way. No comparison.

NOT MAD!!

I was trying to see if the stadium seats would be on sale for the holidays!! (2 for 1) We sat in them at a basketball game watching our grandchildren and couldn't have done it at all without them!! We borrowed them and they were wonderful!! My husband and I both have disabilities and would love to have the seats but just can't afford them until they go on sale! Would be so nice to not miss out on the kids games!! So you see I wasn't upset at all with your company!! So sorry for the confusion! God bless you!!

I stumbled on a great deal for a Lowrance hook 9 fishfinder. There was two left and I ordered one and it went through flawlessly. Four days later the order has been canceled due to them being out of stock. I contacted West Marine and they could not do anything about it because they did not have any in inventory. So why would west marine say they had two of them in inventory, let me order it and then cancel my order?!? This was a real bummer because it was my first purchase through them because of fellow boaters saying that they were awesome. Even at this event being their fault They did not offer anything similar or have given me a discount on a similar product. That is the least they could have done as an awesome reputable company!...

Item never shipped

I ordered a fishing cart on November 12, said it was shipped November 15, money was taken out of my account the day it was “shipped”, and as of today, December 1. Still have not received!! Called yesterday, November 30, spoke with a Lindsey and said that she would “look into it” and get back to me via “email”. Not the answer I was looking for!! Will be calling again and taking my business elsewhere....Like Bass Pro Shop who hopefully will fulfill their customer satisfaction!!!

I ordered new bimini canvas top for my pontoon boat from West Marine. I waited three months and still on backorder plus no notification from West Marine. So I cancelled my order and reordered from an online source. I got it in three days. How do these guys stay in business ??????????? Plus - in additions they have a completely incompetent sales staff. Bought a bilge pump float switch from west marine and installed it. Filled my bilge with water to make sure it works and the switch never came up it was stuck in the down position. I reach in to flip the switch up and after the pump emptied the bilge it was stuck in the up position. Talked with a guy at west marine on the phone he said to bring it in and they would take care of it. Brought it in the store as well as the reciept from when I bought it a day earlier. When I got there he said yeah it’s probably worn out from age. I said you mean it got worn out in a day. He went and got another guy and he proceeded to tell me that I was lying there’s no way it is a new switch. I said it definitely it a new switch I bought it yesterday I have the reciept to prove it. He said well this thing is a piece of crap they don’t get worn out like that in a day. I said this thing is a brand new piece of crap I promise you it is only a day old. Back and forth we went for prob 10-15 minutes I finally cut my losses and walked out of the store pissed off. This is the store in key West Florida. The guys name is Todd he’s an *** and apparently the greatest boat mechanic ever he felt he needed to tell me that during our chat. I hate it when someone calls me a liar when I’m not lying and I have proof that I’m not lying. So over a $25 switch they lost a customer forever. The place is overpriced as *** anyways.

Unauthorized temporary holds

Company has and continues to charge me for my order and proceed to charge me unauthorized duplicate charges days after placing orders. These charges can range from $100 to $1000. These unauthorized charges are placed after being charged for a order when the order actually ships. Charges fall off after a week but not before causing major havoc in my checking account by preventing me from using my funds and causing my account to go in a negative balance unnecessarily.

Wrong product

bonjour , On July 23, I bought a Navionics chip for the Champlain Lake in the store in South Burlington (order ID 018501****) . Given there was none in the store, they offered me to ship it to my place.

The product arrived on time. However, the Lake chart that was sent to me did not have the Champlain lake which is the only lake we do boating. Since then I am trying to have it either refund or replace by the right product but no one is email / calling me back after several attempt . Request for this issue to be escalated on August 25 but still no response .

I am not satisfied with the customer service and would like to be called back so we can discuss the matter.

I haven,t activated the chip yet and waiting for next steps. Sylvie Robert sylvie.m.robert@***.com
